#8. Oktoberfest

October 21 - 23 | Fassler Hall

LIVE German music all three days along with games and festivities!

Beer festival atmosphere with over 20 different German, local, and other domestic styles of Oktoberfest/Marzen style beers for you to sample or purchase in our beer garden. 

We will have stein hoisting contests heats that week starting at McNellie's on Monday the 17th during their pint night and Thursday the 20th at CITY GARDEN and Friday the 21st and all day Saturday the 22nd leading up to the finale Saturday night where someone can win free sausages for a year.

Our Oktoberfest weekend will conclude Sunday evening at 5pm with our annual Beefsteak dinner at 7pm with proceeds benefiting the Central Oklahoma Humane Society.

#7. Automobile Alley's Art of Beer 

Saturday | October 22 | 12-6 pm | Campell Art Park

Automobile Alley's Art of Beer is returning for its second year on Saturday, October 22nd at Campell Art Park outside of Oklahoma Contemporary from 12-6pm. 

The event is FREE and family-friendly! Art programming will be provided by Oklahoma Contemporary as well as live music from their DJ school. Guests can also participate in several lawn games as well as purchase beer from local Auto Alley breweries including Prairie Artisan Ales, Twisted Spike Brewing Company, Vanessa House Beer Co., and Skydance Brewing Co.

#6. Haunted History Cruises

Every Thursday - Friday in October | Bricktown

Haunted History Cruises presented by ArtAfloatOKC, is your destination for bone-chilling legends, spooky tales, and more. Enjoy this 40-minute historic voyage through the Bricktown Canal as you explore Oklahoma's eerie past.

These special narrated cruises are available Thursday and Friday evenings in October. Choose from three time slots (6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 p.m.) each evening PLUS Monday, October 24th, 2022 (Brick-or-Treat night in Bricktown).

The Haunted History Cruises will benefit Preservation Oklahoma, Incorporated, the state's only private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to promoting, supporting, and coordinating historic preservation activities throughout Oklahoma.

#5. Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Exhibition

September 30 - December 4 | The Sailor & The Dock

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition showcases the awe and wonder of arguably one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements, while allowing its visitors to experience this art from an Up-Close, Life-Sized, and Never-Before-Seen perspective.

With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced in a truly unique way using licensed high definition photos. Brought to life using a special printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original paintings, visitors are given a chance to engage with the artwork in ways that were never before possible: seeing every detail, every brushstroke, and every color of the artist’s 34 frescoes. Each image is accompanied by informative signage, and audio guides are available to rent for an even more in-depth experience.

#4. Brick-or-Treat

Monday | 10.20.22 | 4-7 pm | Bricktown

Get your costumes ready, the Bricktown Association is excited to host the 8th annual Brick-or-Treat event for kids in costume on Monday, October 24th from 4pm to 7pm at various locations throughout the district. 

Parents and guardians are invited to bring their kiddos to Bricktown to enjoy a family-friendly evening that includes spooky tunes, roaming characters, photo ops, and trick-or-treating at participating businesses. Attendees can pick up an event map from the information booth on the Mickey Mantle Plaza of the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark to plot their route.

The event is free and open to everyone. Trick-or-treaters must be under the age of 14 and be in costume to receive free candy and giveaways.

#3. Union Station Ghost Tour

Every Friday in October | 7pm - kid friendly tour | 9pm - spooky tour

Go back in time with the Scissortail Park staff to hear about the history of Oklahoma City’s Union Station, complete with mysterious stories and legends from the past, as well as more recent unexplained and ghostly encounters. Union Station opened in 1931 and served Rock Island and Frisco lines until 1967. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and is now home to the Scissortail Park offices. Union Station is not normally open to the public, so come enjoy this once-a-year opportunity.

Pumpkinville is Myriad Botanical Gardens largest annual festival and a beloved fall tradition for thousands of families. Visitors will enjoy imaginative displays made of more than 30,000 pumpkins, gourds, haystacks, and mums. Play hand-crafted games, paint a pumpkin, shop magical vendors, and enjoy special treats and unlimited rides on Mo’s Carousel.

Verbode’s Urban Core Artists series continues after a 2 year COVID hiatus next Thursday night with our show entitled ‘what is home?’ We welcome you and your friends to tour a remarkable historic Victorian in SoSA Heights at 614 NW 8th Street between 6-9pm on October 20th.
